About The Elkford Rod & Gun Club

For over 40 years, the Elkford Rod and Gun Club has been active in promoting outdoor sporting activities, as well as conservation initiatives in the Elk Valley and abroad. With a membership of over 300 strong, the club carries a strong voice on conservation issues and boasts an active volunteer effort that is effective in driving progress and positive initiatives.

Our Purpose

• To ensure the sound, long-term management of fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreational resources in the best interest of all residents of the Province.

• To make all residents aware of the value of our fish, wildlife and outdoor recreational resources, and to arouse in the public conscience a recognition of and a respect for the place of fish, wildlife and outdoor recreation in the wise and integrated use of natural resources.

Wildlife Regulation

• To make the general public aware of the dangers of land, air and water pollution, and to cooperate with groups on similar objectives.

• To promote true appreciation of sportsmanship and sports safety in the light of fish and wildlife regulations and all the fair and accepted rules of hunting and fishing, and to foster good will between sportsmen, outdoor recreationists and land owners.

Membership Benefits

Rifle Range

Registered rifle, shotgun and pistol range, including shooting shelter-club and interclub shoots.

Archery Program

Youth archery programs, indoor shooting range available weekly, club equipment available for kids.

Monthly Meetings

Third Wednesday of the month at 8 pm, Elkford Conference Center (COVID-19 restrictions may apply)

Wildlife Management

Recommendations for regulations, meetings with MLA’s and ministers, meetings with industry concerning land use.

Insurance Coverage

Active voice in provincial issues with BC Wildlife, 3rd party liability coverage, member discounts at many retailers.

Habitat Enhancement

Nature Trust wintering range work, wintering range habitat assessment and planning, bighorn sheep collaring and habitat assessment, sheep wintering range work, fish restocking and water body improvements, large scale invasive weed mitigation.
